Deb's Homemade Dishwasher Rinse
"After a great deal of experimentation in my "lab" (which looks a lot like my kitchen), I developed a cheap, easy to make fake "Jet Dry" type dishwasher rinse aid that works very well. It's natural and non-chemical, but you still need to keep it out of reach of kiddies due to the alcohol content."

ingredients
- 1 cup white vinegar
- 1⁄4 cup alcohol
- 1⁄4 cup hydrogen peroxide (3%)
- 2 tablespoons citric acid
directions
- Combine all ingredients. Fill dishwasher rinse container.

Doesn't the vinegar and hydrogen peroxide produce peracetic acid? I was told never to let them mix in the same container.

I waited a couple of weeks to review this mix as I wanted to test it in my dishwasher first. IT WORKS GREAT! I especially like it because the plastic stuff even dries off after sitting awhil and so does the silverware. I did add some blue food coloring to it so I could see when the dishwasher pre rince needed to be refilled. I really apreciate that you posted this recipe it is so much cheaper to make than it is to buy. -
