ingredients
- 1 bottle australian red wine
- 1 orange, quartered
- clove, stuck in the Orange skins
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 bay leaf (optional)
- brown sugar
- splash brandy (optional) or rum (optional)
directions
- Put red wine, orange pieces, cinnamon sticks & bay leaf in a pan.
- Warm but do not boil. Keep warm for 5 – 10 mins to let flavours infuse.
- When warm add brown sugar to required sweetness.
- Add the brandy or rum for a little ‘oomph’.

<p>A few years ago, I completed a year of cooking my way through the Top 100 recipes of 2009. I made, reviewed and submitted a photo of every recipe on the top 100 of 2009 in 2010. What can I say, I was inspired by Julie & Julia but am not quite that ambitious. I am now going through a sort of cooking withdrawl and am excited to try some new recipes soon!</p>
