David's Sweet Iced Tea

"A delicious sweet refreshing iced tea that is so well liked my dearest friend always keeps 2 gallons in the refrigerator at all times."

• Ingredients: 3
• Yields: 1 one gallon
• Serves: 6-8

ingredients

• 10 lipton tea bags
• 4 cups water
• 2 1⁄4 cups sugar

directions

1. Tie tea bags together.
2. Bring 4 cups water to boil, add tea bags and take off heat.
3. Cover and let sit for about an hour.
4. Pour tea into gallon container and squeeze tea bag excess into gallon container with clean hands.
5. Add sugar and stir.
6. Finish filling container with water, stir and serve.

Great sweet tea!! I used a different brand of tea bags because it is what I had on hand, but still worked really well!! Thank you so much for sharing!

Ahhhhhh, just sitting around waiting for summer! You can't miss it. It's that one LARGE humid air mass. Made for Pantry Challenge recipe tag.

5 stars for taste, for sure! It's a great recipe for basic iced tea, though I used about half of the sugar called for in this recipe. But that's simply our preference. My only comment would be that with only 4 1/2 cups of water and 2 cups sugar called for in this recipe, we didn't get anywhere near a gallon of iced tea. It was closer to a quart (though I didn't really measure it). Nonetheless, this was the perfect beverage to go along with our BBQ rib dinner. Thank you for sharing your recipe, sloe cooker.
