Creamy Rice Pudding

- 2 cups cooked rice
- 2 cups milk
- 1⁄4 cup sugar, plus
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla extract
directions
- Combine rice, milk, sugar, butter, and salt in a medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, 35 minutes or until thickened. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla.
- Spoon into individual serving dishes. Serve hot or cold.

very easy...I just made it with leftover rice from Chinese takeout. we always have rice leftover and I hate to throw it out. I added a little more vanilla and some cinnamon and raisins. it thickened up a lot quicker then suggested. not my grandmother's but very good for something so quick and easy!!...thank you!

Retired world traveler. I have collected recipes from many of the places I have been. Not the recipes from the local 5 star restaraunts but the cuisine that the REAL people eat! Lots of interesting stuff out there people eat!
Love to try out those recipes I have collected now that I have the time. Only problem is finding the original ingredients.
