  1. This was SOOOOO salty! And I didn't even add the salt that it called for! It was too spicy for my family. Maybe better without the turmeric? We also had to add 3 times the water just to get it down. Sorry!

  2. I'm kind of neutral about this recipe. The flavor for me is just ok. It was too much pepper for my taste and mine wasn't "creamy"..it was actually more grainy. I did boil my water and even let it sit for a while...but, it didn't help? Maybe I should've whisked it? I will work with the remaining mix and see if I can improve on the texture. Thanks though...I do like the idea of a quick soup mix.

  3. I have been making this for some time now, and is one of the dishes I have become "famous" for! I love this! Thank you so much for posting. I, too, found this too salty, and often put only 1/2-1 tsp seasoning salt. Also, the first time I made this, I had no turmeric, and have never bothered to add it since then. Where I come from, everyone thinks a soup must have chunks in it! Therefore, we've taken to boiling cubes of potatoes and adding to the soup. Delicious. This is definitely my most asked-for recipe.

  4. I made this out of the Gooseberry book a few years ago as Christmas gifts, and it was well received. I bagged individual servings in zip top baggies, and put it into food baskets for friends. I found that I liked to add a little shredded cheese when making a cup for myself.

  5. I really liked this recipe. It was a little too salty, so I will adjust the seasoning salt next time I make it. I also added more potato flakes as it was a little thin. I didn't have turmeric or white pepper so I don't know how this would affect the taste. This is definitely a keeper! I am giving it as a gift to company coming this weekend! Thanks so much for something so easy so good!
