Creamy Maple Frosting

This is a great frosting from "Vegan Cupcakes Take Over The World." It's great and pairs perfectly with #rz.190849 Maple Cupcakes. Note: I edited the recipe to remove the option to use regular powdered milk. I think that might have made the recipe gritty as one reviewer noted.

  • Beat together the softened margarine and maple syrup. It might look a little curdly, but that's ok.
  • Beat in the maple and vanilla extracts.
  • Slowly add the soymilk powder.
  • The frosting should be creamy and fluffy. If it looks too wet, add more soymilk powder. If it looks too dry, add more maple syrup.

    i made this to go with recipe #340544. this recipe didn't work for me, it was grainy and after it set it was also very greasy. i refrigerated them hoping it would thicken up, but it didn't.i would just make the cupcakes next time and omit the frosting.
