Cream Cheese Frosting

"From Martha Stewart with a few modifications. For those who like to taste the tartness of the cream cheese. This is enough frosting for a two-layer Red Velvet Cake."

• Yields: 4 cup
• Serves: 16

ingredients

• 16 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
• 1 1⁄2 cups confectioners' sugar
• 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
• 1 teaspoon vanilla

directions

1. With a paddle attachment cream the cream cheese until smooth.
2. Gradually add butter, and continue beating until smooth and well blended.
3. Sift in confectioners' sugar, and continue beating until smooth.
4. Add vanilla, and stir to combine.
