  1. I like this simple recipe, but my husband and I didn't think it matched the flavor of Cracker Barrel's chicken tenders. Because the recipe is tasty, I continued to make it. One day I was out if Italian dressing and substituted balsamic vinegrette. Imagine my surprise when it tasted just like Cracker Barrel's chicken! Many reviewers think the original recipe tastes like a Cracker Barrel copycat. If it slightly misses the mark for you, try substiting balsalmic vinegrette. If your tastebuds are like ours, you will enjoy it!

  2. Fantastic! I used whole chicken breasts instead of tenders but otherwise followed the recipe. The chicken was so tasty and it did taste just like CB's grilled chicken tenders. Thanks for the great recipe!

  3. What an easy recipe. I used no fat Italian dressing, Lime juice, pan fried and to get them golden I added 2 tbsp of Vermouth to the pan when they were just ready and let them sizzle for a minute - This is a taste treat

  4. Made these earlier this week for dinner. I didn't have any limes, so I used the juice of a half lemon and followed the rest of the recipe as stated. The results were amazing - the tenders tasted and looked just like CB! I will make these again and again.

  5. Love this at Cracker Barrel and my home attempt was almost as good. If you want them with "char" on them don't add anything to the pan (first time I put a little oil and they were not charred at all). The sauce about killed my pan (had to soak it overnight to get it all clean) but it was worth it! Easy and delish.

Tweaks

  1. I added more of everything to submerge the chicken tenders completely.

  2. These were wonderful! I had an italian dressing mix that I made up for this recipe, and I substituted lemon juice for the lime juice, then I let it marinade for about 2 hours and threw them on the grill. My Dh rarely likes grilled chicken but he absolutely loved these! So easy, so fast, so good!

  3. Great recipe! Followed recipe except substituted lemon juice (used a whole lemon) for the lime juice. The chicken came out very tender!

  4. I doubled the recipe and used lemon juice instead of lime juice and they came out great. A real keeper. Thank you for posting.
