- 4 ounces butter, one stick
- 1 cup Coca-Cola
- 3⁄4 cup miniature marshmallow
- 3 ounces semisweet baking chocolate, one square
- 1⁄2 cup shortening
- 1⁄2 cup vegetable oil
- 3⁄4 cup cocoa powder
- 2 eggs
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 3⁄4 cup buttermilk
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 1⁄3 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons baking powder

- 4 ounces butter, one stick
- 1⁄2 cup cocoa powder
- 1⁄4 cup Coca-Cola, may need up to 3 tablespoons more
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1⁄4 cup Hersheys Chocolate Syrup
directions
- CAKE
- Put Butter, Coke and Baking Chocolate in a sauce pan and bring to a boil.
- Remove from heat and add Marshmallows stir until the Marshmallows disappear.
- Set aside until cooled to room temperature.
- To speed things up I place the pan in a pan of cool water.
- Pre-heat oven to 350 deg. F.
- In a mixing bowl blend the Shortening, Oil, Vanilla, and Sugar until fluffy.
- Add Eggs and buttermilk and beat until smooth.
- Mix Flour with Baking Powder, Soda, Coca and Salt.
- Add half the flour mixture to the egg mixture only beat long enough to combine.
- Add COOLED Coca Cola mixture and beat to combine.
- Add rest of Flour mixture and beat until combined, but do not over beat.
- Batter will be thick.
- Place Batter into 13X9X2 oiled and floured baking pan.
- Bake at 350 for 35 to 40 minutes.
- FROSTING.
- IF the above does not destroy any diet frost the cake with this….
- Cream the butter, add Cocoa, Vanilla, Hershey’s Syrup and Coca Cola.
- Beat until smooth.
- Add Powder sugar a little at a time and beat constantly scraping the bowl frequently.
- Beat well.
- If dry add more Coca Cola.
- Frost the Cake while still warm.
