ingredients
directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease and flour a 9" x 13" pan.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter.
- Remove from heat; stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
- Beat in cocoa, flour and salt.
- If desired, add semi-sweet chocolate chips and mix well.
- Spread batter into prepared pan.
- Bake in preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Do not overcook.
- NOTE: I used semi-sweet chocolate chunks and thought those made the brownies just divine! They're good right out of the oven and even better the next day.

I keep forgetting to review this because every time I look at the recipe I remember how easy and wonderful these brownies are and I have to make some more right away! They are fabulous! We like to substitute nuts for the choc chips but otherwise I don't change a thing; you can't improve on perfection!

I'm an attorney by education and a court reporter by current employment (love my job!). A couple of years ago, we had the opportunity to relocate to my home state of Louisiana, and I am happy happy happy to be here! I've been cooking since I was old enough to see the top of the stove - my mother was a home economics teacher, and she believed in starting me off early. I work full-time, I'm a Scentsy consultant, and I dream of getting my little bath goodie business up and running.
