  1. My husband liked these cookies but its not my favorite cowboy cookie recipe. Not enough chocolate chips. I will try it substituting butter or margarine for the lard/shortening. Ended up tasting too much like shortening and sugar.

  2. 5 Stars from our whole family including my 89 yo Grandma (she took the recipe home with her). I used the medium sized Pampered Chef scoop and got about 3 dozen cookies. I baked them for 14 minutes. Thanks so much for sharing *Made for Fall PAC 2008*

  3. These were super good! I didn't have the walnuts, so I made them without and they were still fabulous! I made these a bit larger so I didn't get 6 dozen out of it. I had to bake a little longer due to changing the size, but otherwise I followed the recipe. They are great!

One on her way to college, one on his way to high school, and one on her way to middle school. What keeps me sane with three kids, two of which are girls? I love to bake. Although I rarely eat anything I bake... lol I just love to experiment and doing things the way they were meant to be done decades ago. Nothing is worth doing if it isnt done right I figure.
