DIRECTIONS

  • Grease and flour bundt pan; preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Pour boiling water over oatmeal and let stand while preparing the following:
  • Sift together flour, cinnamon, baking soda and salt.
  • Add dry ingredients to sugars, eggs and oil.
  • Add oatmeal and mix well.
  • Pour into a greased and floured bundt pan.
  • Bake for 30 - 40 minutes.
  • FOR TOPPING:
  • Dissolve the sugar in milk.
  • Add butter and cook.
  • Stir almost constantly until mixture boils and becomes thick.
  • Take from heat and add vanilla, nuts and coconut.
  • Pour over cake while hot.
