Country Breakfast Casserole

"A one-dish casserole with all of your Sunday morning favorites: sausage, gravy, eggs, cheese, and toast. A little different from most breakfast casseroles, as the bread goes on top and is nicely toasted when this recipe is complete. I got this recipe from Allrecipes.com, and tweaked it to my own tastes. I hope you like it, it's one of my favorites."

 1. This is a wonderful breakfast casserole. We love the country gravy in it. Thanks for posting.

 2. Awsome!! Took a chance on this recipe and now we (the family) can't wait till Saturday
morning breakfast. note: in place of an onion we use scallions. Of course when freinds or
family come over I tell all that this is something I came up with... hehe. What they don't
know wont hurt them.

 3. Very good! I picked this casserole for Christmas morning breakfast. I backed off on the onion amount out of family preference. This will be a regular at our house for special holiday breakfasts. Second day left overs are just as tasty. Thanks Lacer!

I love to cook, and I love to try new things whenever I can. I have two beagles who are my furry little floor cleaners, and a wonderful husband (as of 8/16/07!) who has a very talkative 10 year old daughter. She loves to help me in the kitchen when she's at our house, no matter what I'm making.
I am a runner, this year I'm running almost every 5k and 10k I can find, next year I'm hoping to do a couple half marathons. When I search for healthy recipes, I try to find a good carb-protien balance. When I search for something that just sounds good, anything goes!
My favorite cookbooks are my mom's old church cookbooks I learned to cook from when I was a child. You can always tell the pages the good recipes are on, they're stained and dirty!
