Copycat Trader Vic's Mai Tai
"The original cocktail was created by Trader Vic Bergeron in San Francisco California in 1944 - it became the signature drink for his chain of restaurants. You'll note that there's nary a drop of orange or pineapple juice. For this reason, Mai Tais made with any sort of juice (besides lime juice) are not "true" Mai Tais."

ingredients
- 2 ounces of 17 year old j. wray & nephew rum
- 1 lime, juice of
- 1⁄2 ounce holland dekuyper orange Curacao
- 1⁄4 ounce trader vic rock candy syrup
- 1⁄2 ounce french garier orgeat syrup
directions
- Pour all ingredients over shaved ice in a cocktail shaker.
- Shake vigorously and pour into a collins glass.
- Add a sprig of fresh mint.

In the words of Tracy Byrd, "I'm from the country & I like it that way"!!
On May 1, 2008 my husband and I started a new adventure. We'll be living in a 37 foot RV while our new home is under construction. Its out in the country on a dead end dirt road with lots of trees. For the next 4 months or so, most meals will be cooked on the BBQ and life will be full of challenges!
We love spending quality time with our friends & family - especially the grandkids!! The photo is 4 generations - my 84 year old mother, myself, my daughter & my youngest granddaughter - taken at the end of 2006.
