Colossal Cookies

"Another cookie recipe I got off the internet and plan on trying soon. They look really delicious. Preparation time does not include one hour chilling time."

• Yields: 15 cookies

ingredients

• 1⁄2 cup butter (or margarine)
• 1⁄2 cup shortening
• 1⁄2 cup white sugar
• 3⁄4 cup golden brown sugar
• 1 egg
• 1 1⁄2 teaspoons vanilla
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
• 2 cups flour
• 2 cups dark chocolate chips

directions

1. Blend butter, shortening and sugars.
2. Mix in egg and vanilla.
3. Stir in dry ingredients, then chocolate.
4. Chill for at least one hour.
5. Use a large ice cream scoop and form balls of cookie dough.
6. Place on an ungreased baking sheet.
7. Bake at 350* for 13-15 minutes or until cookies are set and just starting to brown.
8. Cool.
