- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt

- 2⁄3 cup dutch process cocoa
- 1 1⁄2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F; lightly grease 2 baking sheets or line them with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl cream together the butter, sugar, baking powder, espresso powder, vanilla and salt. Add the eggs, beating until smooth. Stir in the cocoa powder, then the flour; the dough will be stiff. Mix in the chocolate chips.
- Drop by tablespoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheets. Bake for 12 minutes. They will look not quite done in the center. Remove them from the oven and allow them to cool for about 10 minutes. Gently squeeze and shape the cookies into uneven balls to resemble chunks of coal.

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, in California. I am now a stay at home mom after trying desperately for 9 years. With the love and generosity of my sister-in-law who acted as our surrogate we now have a beautiful little boy, Ian. I love to camp and go jet skiing with my husband and our families. We have a wonderful chihuahua named Swiffy! She is always making us laugh. We enjoy spending time with our many nieces and nephews. I am an avid reader and I'm addicted to reality television!
