A great waffle treat! Loved the addition of the apple to the recipe. I received 5 nice Belgium sized waffles from my waffle iron. Loved the cinnamon flavor that shone in this recipe. I topped with just a bit of butter and a sprinkle of powdered sugar. Nothing else is really needed. Thanks for sharing a great recipe!
They taste amazing, but are too soft because of the grated apple. I squeezed off as much of the juice as possible before I added them to the batter, but it didn't help as much as I'd hoped. I also added a lot more cinnamon to suit our tastes. Next time I'm going to try dicing the apples. I may also dehydrate some of the apples from our farm and put those in as well to see if that helps with the texture.
Our family really enjoyed these. We doubled the recipe, but did just a couple things differently. I didn't separate the eggs, because honestly, I didn't want to do all the work or have another bowl to wash lol. turned out just fine. Also, added a little more cinnamon to the mix and diced the apples instead of grating them.
