Chocolate-Peanut Crisp Bars

"Whenever I take an assortment of cookies and bars anywhere, these are always the first thing to disappear. 'Nuff said. (But I will just add - cut them small, they are rich!)"

  1. These are SINFULLY DELICIOUS LITTLE TEMPTATIONS that are haunting my waistline!LOL;) Well, these are absolutely yummy and made a great treat for my Halloween party today. Instead of making them into bars, I shaped them into bats and turtles to give a more Halloween look. The kids I made them for were absolutely delighted! Thank you so much for sharing and for making their day very special!

  2. These were very good and everyone loved them! I do not particularly care for the taste of honey, so I was a little leary of this, but I couldn't taste it in these bars and I really liked them. I really think the peanuts are a must!

  3. Me and my Grandson, who is 7, had fun making these for his Mom for a Valentine's Day gift. Of course she loved them!!! I had to hide some away for myself LOL. Thanks for sharing!!

  4. Yum! A tasty variation of the rice krispie bun. I added a cup of sultanas which worked very well. And these are super-quick to make too. I'll be making them again. They are very rich so I cut them into little bite-sized pieces. I lost count of how many bite-size pieces I made - certainly more than 60. Mind you, at the rate I'm eating them they won't last long... :)

  5. Very yummy & ultra rich! I forgot the nuts, and that would have made these bars even better. I sprinkled some coconut on top just for kicks...I also used a gourmet white chocolate peanut butter, which may have pushed it over the limit from rich to decadent. Will make again -- with nuts (or maybe almonds) !

  1. What a fantastic treat! It's satisfying and sustaining! My family and friends couldn't get enough of it! I substituted most of the ingredients to match what I had in the pantry as well as my dietary restrictions (used puffed brown rice instead of crispy rice cereal, agave syrup instead of honey, lindt 85% cocoa dark chocolate instead of the chocolate chips, and added a layer of ricemellow creme fluff [a marshmallow fluff substitute] to the top of the bars). I had some problems with the peanut butter and chocolate mixture solidifying before it could evenly coat the rice. I realized it's because I used powdered cocoa in the first batch and in the second batch it seemed the agave nectar was the culprit. Next time I'll put the agave nectar on after the rice is coated.
