I can't cook but I can bake. I tried this recipe and was very hopeful since it was the first dough I have done that was easy for the cut outs. But they turned out horrible that we threw them out. First for this true fat girl! Maybe I did something wrong. they had no taste and horrible after taste? Maybe it was me?

What an easy cut-out cookie dough to work with! It rolled out beautifully and even my 9-year-old didn't have trouble getting them from the counter to the baking sheet. I used a mixture of cocoa and confectioner's sugar to roll them out rather than the flour. The cocoa blends in with the dough better and the powdered sugar keeps it from being too bitter. The flavor is kind of like a brownie, just not as intense. We decorated some with the dusting of confectioner's sugar as recommended but we really liked the ones we sprinkled with red sanding sugar before baking. They showed the design of our cookie cutter off better. I bet these would be great with a light glaze or butter cream frosting. Thanks Marie! This recipe goes in to my permanent "Cut-out recipes that really do work" file. :)
