  1. My kids and I loved these. I made as posted except I left out the nuts. I think miniature chocolate chips would be better than the large ones as it would spread out the chocolate goodness. Another change I may make in the future is to decrease the amount of sugar to 1 cup; they are a tad sweet though that is really not a huge problem. My son already asked if we could make these again. Thanks for posting.

  2. No. just skip it. Strange texture. Not good flavor. And using high quality ingredients is not my problem. I should have read reviews. My kids ate them because they think they are chocolate cupcakes. They are not tasty.

  3. This recipe has some weird things- mixing the sugar in with the dry ingredients for example, and milk, but very little fat or oil; but I thought I would give it a try- should've listened to my gut- these just don't have the right texture for muffins, they are gritty and hard, just not very good. The kids ate them because they had chocolate chips in them, but my husband gave them a big thumbs down!

  4. * * * MADE FOR FALL 2008 PAC * * * I really like this muffin recipe. I left out the nuts, only because it is a preference thing. I made these into mini muffins and got almost 4 dozen out of the batch. The muffins are very moist. I will be taking these to work tomorrow and see how the "ravens" there like them. Hey, its chocolate, how can they complain. Thanks for a great recipe!!

I'm a stay at home wife and mom who has just fallen in love with cooking. I was scared when I first got married that it was going to be the typical first year of burnt food but strangely enough, I've got a knack for it. It's my husbands joke that after he got married, he lost weight and coworkers asked if my cooking was that bad...he'd tell them no, she just actually cooks without adding a pound of grease to everything like my grandmother!
