Chill out Frozen Hot Chocolate

Chill out Frozen Hot Chocolate created by DeliciousAsItLooks

We serve this in our ice cream parlor and it's very popular. I know there's another frozen hot chocolate recipe here, but this one is different, as it's made with hot cocoa mix.

Ready In:
5mins
Serves:
Units:

ingredients

  • 6 fluid ounces milk
  • 12 cup hot cocoa mix (or 2 packets...we use Swiss Miss Milk Chocolate flavor)
  • 1 12 - 2 cups crushed ice cubes
  • whipped cream (optional)
  • additional hot cocoa mix (optional)

directions

  • Pour milk into blender.
  • Add hot cocoa mix and ice.
  • Blend first at low speed and then high speed until ice is finely crushed and slushy.
  • Pour into tall glass and top with whipped cream and a dusting of hot cocoa mix, if desired.
  • Serve with a straw and enjoy!
  • P.S. This recipe was originally posted using small ice cubes. At our shop we have a commercial blender that has no problem getting through these. Since most people have regular blenders, I have changed it to crushed ice.

Worked like a charm I used regular ice cubess instead of crushed ice but it's better crushed it was tasty but I have too mix a few times every minutes or else it would be ice and liquid separate was super tasty tho

It turned out great, I recommend doing 2 cups instead of 1 1/2 though. Hot chocolate makes me want to throw up, but I like the flavor so making it a slushie lets me enjoy the flavor without feeling sick!

Pretty good! It was hard to make though because it took a while to crush the ice.

Instead of regular milk I used chocolate milk and added mini chocolate chips in so it tasted sort of like Starbucks chocolate chip Frappuccino and it was delicious!
