The only change I made was in using turkey instead of chicken. It was very bland and I wouldn't make it again. If you want to try this recipe I would use some fresh cream or half and half - add some extra flour or corn flour for thickener - red pepper flakes for heat and a tsp of either italian seasoning mix or a tsp of poultry seasonings. That's just my thoughts1Reply

My family liked this although I must say I DID modify. There was a little too much onion; I'll cut back next time. There also was not enough broth for me and it was a bit bland so I added some cream of chicken soup & milk and it was perfect. I'll keep this recipe as a base and continue with my changes. Thanks for posting; this is the base type recipe I was looking for.Reply

This appeared to be a little bland for our liking, my husband doesn't eat onions so I changed it a bit. I used 2 cups of chicken broth, 1 cup heavy whipping cream and 1 cup milk along with some chicken bouillon and twice the butter. I also added 1 tsp. of salt instead of the 1/2 tsp. called for along with some freshly ground white pepper. Some additional flour is necessary with the addition of the extra liquid. It turned out luscious and very creamy.1Reply
