ingredients
- 1⁄2 cup butter
- 3⁄4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1⁄4 cup white sugar
- 2 tablespoons golden syrup (I use maple)
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1⁄3 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄4 teaspoon baking soda
- 3⁄4 cup chocolate chips, divided
directions
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Combine both sugars with butter best until creamy.
- Add syrup, vanilla extract and egg. Lightly beat until just mixed through.
- Add flour, baking soda and salt, mixing well until combined. If needed add extra flour a tablespoon at a time.
- Add half of the chocolate chips.
- Roll the dough into balls and arrange them on a lined baking sheet (parchment paper).
- Press the remaining chocolate chips into the tops of the cookies.
- Bake for 10 to 11 minutes.
- DO NOT OVER BAKE!
- Allow cookies to cool for 30 minutes before eating.
