  • Line an 8 inch baking pan with foil.
  • Combine sugar, evaporated milk, butter and salt in a medium saucepan.
  • Bring to a full rolling boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  • Boil, stirring constantly for 4-5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Stir in marshmallows, chocolate chips, nuts and vanilla extract.
  • Stir vigorously for 1 minute or until marshmallows are melted.
  • Pour into prepared pan.
  • Refrigerate for 2 hours or until firm.
  • Lift from pan and remove foil.
  • Cut into pieces.

  4. This is exactly the recipe and works great every time. Continuous stiring for 5 min and chill for 2 in the fridge. It is tacky and does not harden for days... I live in Western KS and am a K-5 Librarian. I love to cook! Don't we all? I'm married to a VERY picky eater. For me, cooking is a great way to relax. I love baking the best. Christmas is my favorite time of year because I can make so many yummy goodies. I'd like to make goodies year-round but we definitely don't need it!
