Canine Low Sodium Diet

"Our lab was diagnosed with congestive heart failure last week. The vet said a low sodium diet along with medication can help prolong his life. We got this recipe from the vet. As written it makes 1 pound of food. An 80lb dog will need 2.75lbs of food daily. The math is driving me crazy so I'm posting."

• Yields: 1 pound

ingredients

• 1⁄4 lb ground beef
• 2 cups cooked white rice
• 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
• 2 teaspoons bone meal

directions

1. Brown ground beef, retaining fat. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Keep covered in the refrigerator.
