- 1⁄2 cup cold water
- 1⁄2 cup white vinegar
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon dry mustard (using bottled spicy mustard works well also)
- 1⁄8 teaspoon pepper
- 1 dash paprika
directions
- Combine all ingredients in a jar. Stir or shake.
- Makes enough for a couple of servings, so store leftovers in refrigerator. Shake before using.
- Note: Feel free to experiment -- red wine vinegar, balsamic, dill weed, etc etc.

My first cooking experience was taking as many spices from the shelf as I could reach and mixing them all together in a huge bowl. Needless to say, my mom wasn't impressed with my concoction, but at age 3, I thought I'd make a masterpiece.
