"This is the recipe used by Robyn Poarch, an Alabama girl now living in Los Angeles and making pies for the stars. Her clients include Courtney Cox, Ben Stiller, Laura Dern and Steven Spielberg. When asked to describe a buttermilk pie, she says it's kind of like a Southern creme brulee. The crust needs to be nice and cold going into the oven to make it work. The colder the crust the better. • 1 pie crust
• 1⁄2 cup butter, melted
• 3 eggs
• 3⁄4 cup buttermilk
• 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
• 1 3⁄4 cups sugar
• 1⁄2 teaspoon salt

directions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°.
2. In a medium mixing bowl, mix the butter and eggs together until well combined. Add the buttermilk and vanilla, and mix well.
3. Combine the flour, sugar and salt, and mix into the liquid. Pour the filling into the unbaked chilled pie crust and bake on middle rack until set and lightly browned on top, about 50 minutes. Let cool on a rack.
4. Delicious warm, at room temperature, or chilled.

This pie was so easy to make that I couldn't believe just how popular it would be! I made this for my partner with leftover buttermilk from a different recipe. He liked it so much that more buttermilk just "magically" appeared in my fridge. My biggest issue with this pie...is trying to keep myself from eating too much of it. I added a tad more vanilla (1 tsp) and a sprinkle of cinnamon.

I have known Robyn since she was a little girl, this pie is so much better than the recipe I used to make. It is delicious !!! It is "easy as pie" to make !!! Enjoy

My mother made a buttermilk pie when I was a little girl, but from what I can recollect, I think it might've had a bit of a sweet but tangy flavor to it. This reminds me of a chess pie, which is a very sweet pie. My friend thought it was very good, especially served cold. For me, it was okay, but not exactly what I was expecting. Still I thank you for sharing.

This is probably the best pie I've ever made. The pie is very easy and simple recipe to follow and it can be made in less than 20 minutes. It is full of flavor and taste with a crispy top that is unmatched by any! This is a recipe that I'll always make for any special occassion. This is a must-make dessert that I'll always be willing to share with anyone that loves quality. I did substitute the regular pie crust with a grahm cracker crust and it came out fabulous. You and your friends will be blessed after trying this excellant dessert!
