Is the chicken frozen or thawed? An hour seems so long for thawed?

I made this last night and it was delicious! Even my picky eater liked it, saying, "Be sure to save this recipe." I had 3 large boneless skinless chicken breasts and I sliced them in half length way. They were a perfect fit in the 9 x 13 pan. I set the oven for 400° and cooked for half hour. After the turn and soup addition I cooked for 25 more minutes and that was plenty. I used cream of chicken with herbs which I thought was a nice touch. I might even add a few more herbs next time. I think it would be good with cream of mushroom too? Was planning to serve with mashed potatoes but changed my mind at the last minute and made rice. I am sure the gravy is wonderful on either. Thanks for offering such a yummy recipe!

I am trying this recipe for the first time. I am not very good in the kitchen but this recipe looked pretty easy. I am trying to surprise my girlfriend and make her dinner with this chicken and gravy and mashed potatoes and buttered Brussel Sprouts.... I got the chicken but I got split chicken breast with the bones and skin still on.... Does this change the recipe or cooking time at all?? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

This recipe is very good. I made a little more low fat and low in carbs ,but still a killer easy meal. I brown chicken in Pam cooking spray on top of the stove. Then used cream of chicken soup and 1/4 can of water and place 4 teaspoon squares of butter on top of chicken. Then baked. Still very good.

My Mom and I loved the Cracker Barrel Butter Baked Chicken, so I have been on a hunt for the recipe for a while. I tried this one, and my husband loves it! He requests it nearly every week! This is definitely a keeper :)

I enjoyed this butter baked chicken at Cracker Barrel a few weeks ago and have craved it ever since. I found this recipe on food.com and decided to see if was close to Cracker Barrel's. It was exactly the same. I was thrilled. Loved it!
