Brown Sugar Bites

"I got this recipe from a magazine several years ago, orginally from Barbara Briner of Texas. Great for appetizer parties!"

• Ingredients: 3
• Serves: 12

ingredients

• 1 (16 ounce) package bacon
• 1 (1 lb) package 2-inch smoked sausage
• 1⁄4 cup brown sugar, packed

directions

1. Cut bacon into thirds.
2. Wrap each sausage with a third of a slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
3. Place in a baking dish in a single layer.
4. Sprinkle with brown sugar.
5. Bake for 35-45 minutes at 375 degrees.
6. Serve warm.
7. Makes about 48.

These are similar to an appetizer I make using water chestnuts. We love it using the sausage. This hearty appetizer was a hit with everyone and sure to make a repeat performance at future parties. Thanks so much, Chef Doozer.
