- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups brown sugar (packed)
- 4 eggs (beaten)
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups bran flakes
- 2 cups flour
- 4 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
- raisins (add to your taste)
directions
- Blend butter and sugar.
- Add eggs and beat well.
- Stir in vanilla and salt.
- Crush bran flakes slightly and add with flour to first mix.
- Add raisin (to your taste)>.
- Fold only until combined.
- Spread in greased 9x13 pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until set.
- Remove and sprinkle with confectioners' sugar on top.
- Cut when Cool.
- Enjoy!

Oh I definitely like the simplicity of this one! They were quite nice. I thought they seemed a bit dense, so maybe I might use self-raising flour next time and see what happens, but it could just be because of my substitutions. I grated 1 carrot in and used 1/2 wholemeal flour, and sprinkled almonds on top and added almond essense to make it some sort of carrot-almond-sultana bran slice. So it's not really the recipe's fault, but at least I can rate it high for a great starting place! Thankyou! :)
