Bleu Cheese Burgers

These thick (man-sized), tender, and very creamy bleu cheeseburgers are another one of our recipes made 'on the fly' with whatever was in the pantry. Be sure and use a good quality bleu cheese (we like Stella Brand). Ideal served with with Recipe #264984. Use pita bread and add sliced tomatoes for a '2Bleu style' gyro.

These are delicious! I mixed all of the ingredients for the meat together except for the bleu cheese, so I could just add the bleu cheese to one burger right before grilling, since no one else likes bleu cheese. :( The egg and seasoned breadcrumbs really made even the plain burgers tasty! I didn't have seasoned bread crumbs, so I added some italian seasoning and salt and pepper. YUM!!! I used the bleu cheese sauce, but it made the bleu cheese a little intense for me. Next time, I'll skip the sauce. I do think I would like these even better with some chopped, cooked applewood smoked bacon stirred into the meat. I used fresh ground chuck from a local meat shop. Made for PRMR. Thanks for posting this!Reply
