- 1 (15 ounce) can black beans, reserve liquid
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 teaspoon tahini
- 3⁄4 teaspoon cumin
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
directions
- Mince garlic in food processor. Add beans, 1 tbl of reserved liquid, and the remaining ingredients. Process until smooth.

I just made some before I saw this recipe. It's nicely blended and creamy, and I worked mine pretty well, too. I used more tahini, lemon juice, garlic and 1/2 tsp cumin. I forgot the cayenne which was good because it has plenty of heat for some reason. It is the best "basic" hummus I've made yet, just wanted to use up a can of cheap black beans, surprisingly tasty.
