My little backyard birds thank you so much for posting this recipe. I cannot honestly said I "tasted" this recipe but the birds have and they are tweeting their 5 stars most definitely! I had to make a small change in that I did not have bacon drippings so used shortening and peanut butter mixed to give it the fat needed to hold together. I received 12 regular size bird muffins - I was sure not to fill the tins too high because I wanted these to fit depthwise in my suet cage feeder. Made for the Bargain Basement tag game in the Cooking With Friends Tag Game forum! Thanks for a keeper for my outdoor feathered friends.
