ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion (med chopped)
- 1 (28 ounce) can baked beans (Boston style)
- 1 (16 ounce) can baked beans (Boston style)
- 1⁄3 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons vinegar (I use apple cider vinegar)
- 1 - 1 1⁄2 cup ketchup
- salt and pepper
directions
- Brown beef with onions seasoned with salt and pepper until no longer pink. Drain. Mix in 2 cans of beans (undrained), sugar, vinegar and ketchup. Put in an ovenware dish, cover and bake for 1 hour at 350. I usually make this the day before and reheat to serve.

Great doctored bean recipe. I made it as written and it turned out very nice. I thought it tasted super as soon as it cooled enough to sample. I'm serving it tomorrow so we'll see just how much it improves in flavor. I really can't imagine it being any better than it was right out of the oven. Thanks so much for sharing. This certainly is a keeper! Made for PAC Spring 2010.
