- 1 cup oil
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1⁄2 cup white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1⁄4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups oatmeal
directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a large bowl, mix oil, sugars, egg, water and vanilla.
- In a small bowl, mix rest of ingredients.
- Stir dry mixture into wet mixture just until mixed.
- Pour into 9x13-inch pan.
- Bake for about 25 minutes.

I have been on the lookout for breakfast ideas, and made these, with a few changes. To say they were a hit is an understatement. Even my DH loved them. In an effort to reduce the amount of oil, I substituted (for the oil and the water) 3/8 c. corn syrup, 3/8 c. molasses, 1/2 c. applesauce and only 1/4 c. oil. I added 1 t. cinnamon, 1 t. nutmeg and about 2/3 c. chopped walnuts, too!
