Best Macaroni & Cheese

"Everyone that tastes it wants the recipe. It's the best mac & cheese you'll ever eat :) Wish I could say it was a family recipe or something, but after being married for a few months, I wanted to make mac & cheese so I grab a box of elbow noodles at the grocery and made the recipe in the back. Never tried another after."

  • Cook and drain elbow macaroni.
  • Meanwhile, in saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Remove from heat; blend in flour, salt, mustard and pepper. Return to heat, gradually add milk, stirring constantly until sauce thickens slightly.
  • Add 1 1/2 cup of shredded cheese; and stir until cheese is melted.
  • Combine sauce mix and drained macaroni in a lightly greased 2 quart casserole and mix.
  • Sprinkle bread crumbs and paprika over top of macaroni with remaining cheese.
  • Bake in preheated 375F oven about 20 to 25 minutes or until browned and bubbly.
