  • Add hot dogs to cold salted water and bring them up to a boil. Turn them off and keep them warm in the hot water.
  • Serve warm.
  • For an added kick of flavor try splitting the boiled dogs almost all the way in half. Open them up and add to a hot pan which a little olive oil has been added. Cook over medium heat until brown on both sides.

These hot dogs were fine, but they were not "special." For the extra step, they weren't any tastier than my normal way of preparing.

Quick, easy, and tasty -- thanks for sharing!! I like that the hot water kept them warm -- with the kids, I don't always get to eat at the same time everyone else does!

I used expensive Omaha Steak Hot Dogs. I have to agree that the boiling didn't add anything to this recipe, but come on, who doesn't love a good fried hot dog!!!!! A tasty lunch.

I followed the directions and did both, cooked it in sea salt and cold water and then the olive oil in the hot pan. I also used high quality hot dogs, sorry to say they didn't taste any different to me than when I just boil them or put them on the broiler pan. Prepared for ZWT 2008
