My family LOVED these. I like the fact that they are so easy to prepare ahead of time and then bake right before serving. My box of taco shells had 12 shells in it. I don't know if they were smaller than shells that come in a box of 8, but I had no problem filling all 12. I used petite diced tomatoes to balance out the size of the tomatoes with the beans and meat pieces. I thought it worked well. We added salsa, sour cream and shredded lettuce to them after they were baked. They are already on the menu again!
