Questions & Replies

  1. I think I might try it with sourkraut as well. Looks delish.

  2. Instead of buying rosemary for this recipe, I bought dill. Will dill make this recipe taste as good ?

  1. Why is there always a doomsdayer on these comments? That said, the Kielbasa thing can be sauteed with a little bit of oil, along with the onions, boil the potatoes to not quite done, add the other ingredients and put it into a casserole dish and bake. I also like to cook this with sauerkraut and some diced tomato.

  2. A ny way to cook this other than on a grill?

  3. One thing many of us that we have lost track of is the idea of the single portion. I feel that this one one thing that Food.com should introduce: Specific amounts or ingredients that help us understand portion control. It absolutely amazed me when I was shown how little I could consume and feel very good about it. It was followed by a 50lb weight loss over 8 months.

  4. This was excellent! I used a white onion because all the yellow onions at the store were bad and I didn't have time to go to another store. I also used onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, seasoning salt, and basil instead of the rosemary.

  5. I'm a stay-at-home mom with 3 little girls and a husband who travels ALOT! This is such a great meal to prepare and serve when my husband is gone (and home). It's easy, tasty, and there's little clean up involved. During the cold winter months I bake this in the oven at 375 for an hour and it comes out perfect. Thanks for a simple, super meal!

Tweaks

  1. Great week night meal! Baked this in the oven - 375 degrees for 50 min. I used quartered yukon gold potatoes and also replaced the rosemary (DH does not like) with basil, oregano and garlic powder. Thanks for posting!

  2. I used smoked turkey sausage (for the lack of calories) and thyme since I'm not a fan of rosemary.

  4. Very good. I added some yellow bell pepper. I think you could easily substitute Italian sausage for the kielbasa too for a different flavor.

  5. Great recipe...it reminds me of something we used to make at camp called a HOBO meal. I made mine in the oven since it's January in Minnesota and they turned out great. I added brussel sprouts and substituted leeks for onions since I had them. Baked at 400 degrees for about 45-50 minutes. The fam loved them and it was easy clean up!
