I cut this recipe out of the Toronto Star about 20 years ago. I have made tons of other cookie recipes but this is by far the family favorite. Fantastic cookie recipe!!

It's they holiday season, and I decided to make a batch for my office. I omitted the coconut flakes (personal preference) and substituted the pecans for raisins. Office member has nut allergies. Everything else I followed as instructed and they came out great! They were very moist and soft! My office ate these in a single day. Thank you for sharing!

This was a great and simple recipe to make. We used mini-chocolate chips instead and there is little bits of chocolate chips through-out the whole cookie. Very good, reminds me of a chocolate chip muffin. Will make again.

I haven't made these in years and I know that we will gorge ourselves as soon as they come out of the oven. Barbara is a first class lady and although mistakes were made i still like her son. Keep bakin' Babs!

This is an excellent recipe! I followed the recipe, minus the chocolate chips, and they turned out perfectly. Not too sweet, nice and chewy on the inside and a little bit of crunch on the edge-just perfect! Thanks for posting this recipe!!
