ingredients

• 2 3⁄4 cups sifted flour
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1⁄4 teaspoon ground cloves
• 1 1⁄2 teaspoons cinnamon
• 3⁄4 teaspoon nutmeg
• 2⁄3 cup shortening
• 1 1⁄3 cups sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1 2⁄3 cups mashed bananas
• 2 teaspoons vanilla

directions

1. Sift Flour, baking powder, Baking soda, Salt and spices together 3 times.
2. Cream shortening with sugar until fluffy.
3. add the eggs to the shortening, sugar mixture and beat till fluffy.
4. add the sifted dry ingredients and the banana's alternately in small amounts , beating well after each addition.
5. Stf in the vanilla.
6. Pour into Greased pan and back 350 for 35 mins or until top spings back after touched.
7. Makes 2 8 -Inch Layers.
