Banana Smoothie

"A delicious low-fat smoothie, sweetened naturally with honey, with extra nutrition from wheat germ and sunflower seeds, and extra flavour from cinnamon. A great morning-pick-me-up! I often take some to work in a Tupperware container with a firm lid, and enjoy it as a mid-morning snack."

directions

 • Blend or process the ingredients until smooth.
 • Note: Use frozen bananas - or add ice cubes to the blender - for a thicker smoothie. I'm reluctant to add ice cubes to my blender, and if the smoothie is not all being drunk at the time you make it, I'd advise against the ice blocks, because naturally they'll just make what's drunk later more watery! Add any other fruit, as takes your fancy!

 1. This was YUMMY!! Made per instructions except I used FF vanilla Greek yogurt. I cut the recipe in half for just me, and added 1 packet of Stevia. I think next time I'll add more cinnamon but otherwise this was awesome! Thanks for sharing!

 2. Healthy and so good tasting too! I enjoyed the flavors of the wheat germ and sunflower seeds. Thanks! Made for Vegetarian Swap-Oct. 2008.

 3. Great smoothie. Made recipe as posted except I used whole milk. The wheat germ, gave it a great taste.

 4. Great smoothie. I had it as a very light dinner tonight and it was just the thing. I used fat free vanilla yogurt and a small amount of Splenda for the honey. I like the addition of the wheat germ and using frozen banana makes it so thick and frosty! Yumm

 5. Tastes very "health nut" and like it's very good for you (which isn't bad but we were looking for something a bit more banana-y). Delicious, cereal tasting smoothie though.

July 2008 update: VERY happy to be back on Zaar after about a two year absence due to having had no internet connection at home, and having been too unwell for a time so that getting re-connected wasn't even a priority!

And really looking forward to getting back into the Zaar world and connecting again with the many wonderful people I knew before, and new people, of course!
