Baked Pork Chops

"This is a super easy pork chop recipe that tastes like you slaved over a hot stove for a few hours to achieve its tender flavor."

directions

  • Combine cracker crumbs, cheese, salt and pepper in a bowl. Dip pork chops in flour, this way, the coating will stick.
  • Beat egg and milk in shallow bowl.
  • Coat pork chops in crumb mixture.
  • Dip in egg mixture and into crumbs again.
  • Pour melted butter into baking dish.
  • Arrange pork chops in prepared dish.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes on each side (I use THICK chops, so if yours are thin, decrease baking time.).

Does anyone from "Food" ever give these recipes, as written, a trial run? My chops were a disaster! Most of the breading stayed in the dish, they couldn't compare with Shake and Bake and a lot more work. Coat the chops with flour so the crumbs will stick? Not a chance until you've dipped them in the egg mixture but it doesn't say that. And perhaps cooking at a higher temperature just might help to keep from losing most of the crumbs. Or perhaps I added too much butter...since the recipe doesn't tell you how much. I have thrown the rest of the chops out.

I use crushed BBQ chips and add a squirt of hot sauce to the egg dip with rave reviews.

I use recipe as is with the exception of using 1/2 cup of Ritz crackers and 1/2 cup of crushed ginger snaps Delicious Twist on an already great recipe
