Baked Grilled Cheese

Baked Grilled Cheese created by Jonathan Melendez

My family loves grilled cheese so when they asked for it I wanted to try something new. This was the best grilled cheese, nice crunchy bread with melted cheese. I had to post this so I wouldn't forget it. Family loved it served with homemade milkshakes and fries. This is a great way to make a bunch at one time and the clean-up was nothing. ;)

Tonight was soup and grilled cheese, because everyone had games and dinner was late.Normally, I spend time standing at the cooktop making each sandwich. Tonight everyone had their sandwich ready, and we were able to eat together. No one questioned how I managed, but simply ate and enjoyed then. Thank you. This definitely is a keeper.

This is the BEST method for a non soggy, crispy grilled cheese sandwich. For those with white, untoasted bread something must be wrong either with the oven or pan used. I use a half sheet pan, stainless steel. brown and crisp every time.

450 for 5 minutes each side was PERFECT!

I beat the pale bread by heating the baking pan with the oven as it preheated, covered the bottom of the pan in a coat of butter, melted about 6 tbsps of butter for the tops and brushed it on the tops, took less time to cook as well.

I had to cook them for 15 minutes. They were almost perfect, though. 100x easier than using a skillet or griddle.
