- 2 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons shortening (Crisco)
- 3⁄4 cup cheddar cheese, shredded (6 oz.)
- 2⁄3 cup low-fat milk
- 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
directions
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
- Mix flour, baking powder and salt in a large bowl.
- Cut in shortening using a pastry blender.
- Add cheese, milk and bacon, mixing until a soft and sticky dough forms; beat 20 strokes.
- Drop by spoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet.
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes until golden brown.
