I am the same as your daughter-HATE the canned stuff. But my husband loves it. So when we wanted sloppy joes the other night, of course it was a fight over homemade or canned. I won (HA!) and made this. He loved it and said that he'd choose this over the canned stuff anytime. My 2 year old loved it too!

The photo of this recipe that appeared on food.com's front page has been haunting me all week. I was in a total mess until I made this during the day today. Now, I feel better! This is a great, easy as peasy recipe to put on the stove-top, and snack away. I followed this exactly, except for adding some fresh tomatoes, and cooking them right along with the soup/mustard/ketchup. (*had some late summer tomatoes to use up) ~ and it tastes so good, you will want to have this on hand to use for after-school snacking. I can see serving them on toast, english muffins, or the slider rolls - or even hot dog rolls. In fact, you could serve this as a topping for hot dogs....the variations are endless. Thanks for posting such a winner, looneytunesfan! Hugs from the farm!
