Avocado Shake

"This is a delicious unique shake for avocado lovers like me :)"

• Ingredients: 4
• Serves: 2

ingredients

• 1 medium-large avocado, very ripe
• 1 1⁄2 cups milk (or sweetened condensed milk if you want it to be thicker and sweeter, more like a dessert)
• 1 tablespoon sugar (to taste)
• ice cube

directions

1. Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, scoop out the pulp, and place in a blender with the milk, sugar and ice cubes.
2. Blend until smooth and frothy.
3. Taste and add more sugar if you like.
4. Serve immediately.

Delicious and a great way to use up an avocado! I only had 1/2 of an avocado on hand, but it still turned out very creamy, thick, and yummy. Thanks for sharing.

Made this for DH and he really liked it, though he was not sure he would. Used FF milk / condensed milk mix and Splenda with the avocado. I different kind of shake. Thanks Maven, made for the ZINGO round of ZWT5, for the Bodacious Brickhouse Babes.

Oh, this is gonna come out all wrong, but here goes... I definitely think that this makes a great shake -- it's thick, creamy, smooth, a little sweet (I used 1% milk and added a couple packets of Truvia to it). Okay, I have to tell you that I was a little afraid of this recipe because I love avocado, but I struggle a bit with it being in a sweet recipe. I think to make myself stop thinking of guacamole while I drink it, I would have to make it sweeter (maybe use the sweetened condensed milk instead), but that's just my own mental block against sweet avocado. It really didn't taste anything like guacamole LOL. I really did like how smooth and creamy this was (it tasted like it was made with ice cream), so I'm going to try it again with the sweetened condensed milk. This really isn't any different (concept-wise) than zucchini bread or carrot cake, both things I love, so I really think I'd love this as long as it was sweet enough to keep me from thinking of the guacamole again. That being said, I would recommend that avocado lovers try this, even if you're not sure about avocado in a sweet application, because this really is a good recipe for something a little different than the norm. Delicious! I love avocado, but this is my first time trying it as a shake. I used non-fat milk, and added 12 large ice to make it nice and thick. I also added an extra tsp. of sugar. It is smooth and creamy with a mild avocado flavor. Thank you Midwest Maven. Made for ZWT 5 by an epicurean queen.
