  • Boil the beans, garlic and salt until the beans are tender. Save three cups of the liquid.
  • Place the beans and the three cups liquid to the pot along with the reaming ingredients.
  • When it comes to a boil, add in the rice. Let it boil for 20 minutes and simmer when all the water has dissolved.
  • Stir it with wooden spoon.

  1. This did not work out for us. It was bland and the beans came out mushy I think because they are fully cooked when added to the rice, then cooked again.

  1. Sometimes it's best to use canned kidney beans growing up I use dry kidney beans but we also use a certain type of pot to cook the rice in. We also add thyme and bay leaves to give it flavor
