Athole Brose

"A classic drink in Scotland. The honey and milk soften the flavor of the whiskey, pleasing even those who aren't big Scotch lovers."

  1. A bit sweet for me! I'll reduce the honey next time ~ Made a nice steamy drink, and fogged up my snifter in my air conditioned room! Made for Zaar Stars, due September 6th.

  2. I wasn't feeling top notch yesterday and I too made this shortly before bed. I didn't have any Scotch so used 2 Tbsp (for 1 serving) of Jamison's and 1 Tbsp of honey. It was smooth and quite pleasant and the real plus was a lovely nights sleep. I feel great this morning and well rested. :D

  3. Very good, if a touch on the sweet side. I made this a "tall" drink, using the amount of scotch for 1 drink, and rest of the ingredients for two. It made a nice drink to enjoy on a cold evening, and the hot milk helped relax me before bed. Instead of a 2 quart bowl, I used a plastic 2 cup measure, which was plenty large for half a recipe, and cooked for 2 minutes.

  4. Very nice drink. I think I would like this as a night cap after a long hard day. I rimmed the cup with honey and crushed toasted almonds, just to make it girly ;) Thanks for sharing
