  1. I followed this recipe exactly using butter rather than margarine. I have to admit that when it first came out of the oven, after cooling a bit, I thought it was too sweet. But after letting it cool completely in the fridge, I loved it the next day. I served it warmed up in the microwave with a spoonful of cool whip and it was wonderful. Given that it was really sweet, I would probably try cutting down the brown sugar and the regular sugar just a bit next time...just to see if I liked it better that way right from the oven. But if you love over the top sweetness, I would leave the recipe just the way it is.

  2. This was super yummy and was a total hit at my house. Thanks for sharing, Bayhill. Congrats on your football win!

  3. This was delicious. I used Gala variety applies, and it was a good choice because they taste so fresh and they hold up well during baking. The recipe is really easy to make, too. Thanks, Bayhill. We really enjoyed it.

  4. This is the best apple crisp/crunch recipe I have eaten. Absolutely delish.

  5. Very rich; very yummy! I'll cut back a little on the sugar next time. I used lemon juice to moisten the apples, not water. made for CCQ Culinary Quest 2014

  1. This is so good. It has a nice crunch to it that is sometimes lacking in other apple crisps. I used Splenda Brown Sugar Blend and Land O Lakes Soft Baking Butter and it turned out fine. This has become my new apple dessert. Also I used orange juice instead of lemon juice. Thanks, Carole in Orlando
